Ethan

“I knew I wasn’t living right, and I had to let the lead pastor know. I couldn’t be sharing about Jesus and living opposite”

Ethan, from Alabama, grew up as a child estranged from the care of his parents. They both were victim of addiction issues and left Ethan to be raised by his grandfather whom he refers to as “pawpaw”. Pawpaw taught Ethan everything he knows and was Ethan’s source of connection and stability. However, at 16, Ethan’s grandfather passed away and is left him devastated. Ethan explains, shortly after he began experiencing homelessness as a teenager. Since then Ethan describes his life as “on and off of the streets for years”. A few years ago, Ethan found himself connected closely to God and serving at a church as a youth pastor. His life took a positive turn towards light and love. He has an amazing gift to declare Gods word and preach to people of all ages. He also has a gifting for hip hop and music creation. Ministry trips around the US were common place for him during his ministry days. Ethan explains how a girl whom he began dating contributed to his fall from the church and aided in bad personal choices soon after. He currently dreams of the day he can serve God in the same capacity. Over the last few weeks Ethan has been tirelessly trying to find employment and a place to stay. He recently landed a job in Brea mall, but was soon released due to complaints about his hygiene, due to the fact that he had no place to shower before and after shifts. Both of our hearts broke as Ethan broke the news of his termination. After today, Ethan has been filled with new faith and boldness, ready to continue his efforts to overcome the trials and struggles of homelessness. We prayed that the Lord would bring a buyer, filled with compassion and interested in seeing Ethan as an overcomer of his circumstances.
